Why Calendula?

If you’re a label reader, you might be wondering why we use Calendula off. in many ApotheCorrie products. This beautiful golden-hued flower is a powerhouse in herbal skincare and wellness practices. It was the first herb I fully studied. I love using it in my formulas and find it to be mild enough to use everyday.

Calendula off. promotes cell repair and growth and is a noted anti-inflammatory. It is commonly used in creams, salves, and ointments for bruises, burns, sores, skin ulcers, rashes and infections. Calendula can improve skin firmness by boosting collagen production. It is safe to use on tender skin, yet powerful in helping to maintain healthy, glowing skin.

Calendula flower may also be used internally by infusing the herb in water to create a tea. The tea is an excellent wash for irritated skin. The tea can also be taken internally to aid gastrointestinal problems. It removes toxins from the liver and gallbladder. This detoxification also clears skin and aids healing of skin irritations, ulcers, and sores. The blooms are also edible and make a great addition to Spring and Summer time salads.

Calendula is considered one of the safest herbs to use. It is not toxic. It should not be used by people who are allergic to marigold, ragweed, daisies, chrysanthemums, chamomile, echinacea, and other plants in the Aster/Daisy family.
